Stella Adler was a young and curious actress as a little girl. She was born in New York and raised there too. At age 4, she started at The Independent Yiddish Arts company run by her parents Sara and Jacob Adler. As she grew, she got more into acting for the world to see. When she began her education at New York University, soon after, she developed a good technique and strong personality for acting. As time past, she ended up opening a studio for acting, at age 48. She was successful and talented growing up, and her school continues its business to this day. Sadly, the day came that dear Stella had to leave us but thankfully some people still remember her story of turning a childhood dream into something people could remember her for.
Moving on from that, Stella Adler was a American actress as well an acting teacher at a school she opened herself in 1949, at age 48. A school in Los Angeles was also opened just in a different building, her longtime friend Irene Gilbert ran it until Stella died. One of my favorite quotes that she said was “Life beats you down and crushes the soul but art reminds you that you have one.” Back to her school, she had many successful students that went to the Stella Adler studio of acting that are now quite famous such as Mark Ruffalo who we know today has The Incredible Hulk! The studio/school took place in New York City! (that is where Stella opened it) now I must tell you about Stella’s family.
Stella Adler had a good ‘ol family. Her parents are Sara and Jacob Adler. She had three brothers such as Jay, Luther, and Charles Adler (these are not in birth order) and one sister, Julia Adler and then of course Stella. Later she married three men. Her first husband was Horace Eleascheff the later had one child, a daughter Ellen, soon after they divorced and then Stella married Harold Clurman. After that, Stella's last husband was Mitchell A. Wilson.
Stella Adler had to die someday, and this was that day for her. Sadly, Stella died Dec. 21st, 1992. Her resting place is Mount Carmel Cemetery, Queens. You may be wondering when she was born, well I will tell you. She was born Feb. 10th, 1901! Isn't that nice.
It all comes down to Stella Adler being a very successful and talented actress. I chose her because I love to act, and I would love to learn more about Stella and how talented she was! I would love to be an actress someday and Stella just pulled me into her story and made me want to learn more. I hope I did the same for you! She had a good long life and tried her best to make her dream as a small girl into a reality as an old woman. She looked for something she was able to do and made it happen without looking back. She worked hard and now people love learning and sharing wonderful things about the spectacular STELLA ADLER!
