Phil Knight

By Charlie

You know how you have to take out the trash and you just do it?  Well do you?  Well that's Nike for you.  part of their biggest campaign ever "Just do it." so tell me is Nike better than Adidas?  I would say the big N is better - because I am the founder, Phil Knight.

I was determined to be the best at a very young age.  I am a very competitive person and I am not embarrassed to say that because that only makes you better.  At a young age I always liked to run but I never thought it was going to be part of my life.  Fast forward, I'm at the University of Oregon, I had a scholarship for being a track and field athlete, and I was going to go to the Olympics but I decided to not and go back to partner up with my former track and field coach.  We started Blue Ribbon Sports and we were selling shoes out of a van.  Our first shoe was the Moon Shoe.  It was a normal shoe on top but the soles were very futuristic-looking I guess.  The soles were made from a waffle iron and it started from there.

Now, it took us a long time but we were finally sort of popular.  I branched off into Nike, with Swoosh Inc. And that is where my career absolutely skyrocketed.  The first sign we were going to do with the NBA was for three players.  Once of my employees-slash-very good friends of mine was thinking we should only sign one player and that was Michael Jordan.  I was hesitant at first but I slowly realized that this was an extraordinarily awesomely amazingly good idea.  I mean, I am talking Albert Einstein level.  Jordan made my company billions, and we made him billions.

Fast forward even more and Nike has blown up in every single continent except Antarctica.  Well, actually, scratch that.  Scientists in Antarctica have probably worn Nike.  At least I hope so.  I am 85 now and everyone has all of my shoes going everywhere every time any way.  Now, personally, my favorite Nikes are (disclaimer, you may not know all of these so don't feel bad) the Ben & Jerry's Dunks, the Dior high-tops, the Moneybag Dunks, Supreme Air Force Ones, and that's just a few.  Over my career, I did a lot of work with the Mak-a-Wish Foundation and donated a lot of money to charity.  I only donated $5 Million, but you only need $5 million to make about one million people happy.  Today Nike has more brand deals and shoes and charity work and branches of products just waiting to happen.

Last but not least, I have had a good life doing what I love.

Charales Darwin

By Maddox

I am studding Charales Darwin who is famous for a lot of things. Including the Galapagos Islands and the Galapagos Islands. So, stay tuned for more information about Charales Darwin Charales Darwin and Abraham Lincon were born on February 12, 1809, the same date. Now we are ready for when Darwin was visiting the Galapagos Islands it had a resounding impact on his theory. Now we are ready for Darwin's five-year voyage around the world on HMS Beagle, which ended in the year 1836, provided him with invaluable research that contributed to the development of his theory of evolution and natural selection. Now we are ready for Darwin’s theories, when Darwin formulated his theories after returning from his voyage around the world on the HMS Beagle and published them in 1859. Now I can tell you about what Darwin did in college first he made a club named the Gormet club also known as the Glutton club for the purpose of dining on “birds and beast, which were before not known to the human palate. "Now I can tell you about Darwin's good background in science as he was a protégé of Henlow, the famous Botanist. The Galapagos Islands are iguanas, giant tortoises, and finches. Now we are ready for what he did as a job for a while. After spending the summer of 1825 serving as an apprentice in his father's practice, he entered Britain’s top medical schools the university of Edinburgh. After returning from his trip around the world, Darwin began to suffer from exhaustion (etc.) persist for the rest of his life.

He died September 24th, 1991, La Jolla California when he was 87 years old. He died of cancer. His ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean. In 1967 Dr. Seuss’s first wife Helen Palmer died. He was devastated. A year later, in 1968 he married Audrey Stone Diamond. Audrey Stone Diamond is still living today. When he was a child, he was in Boy Scouts. In Boy Scouts he and nine other boys won prizes for things they did. They were all supposed to get a medal but there were only nine medals instead of ten. It turned out he was the one who didn't get a metal. After that he always had stage fright.

He wrote over sixty books for kids including The Five Hundred Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins, Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Cat in The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Lorax. Mikhail Baryshnikov

by: Brayden

Today I am going to tell you about the great dancer, Mikhail Baryshnikov. The one who defected from Russia. The one who raised the bar for male ballet dancers. The one who was in so many performances that I cannot say the names of or am not allowed to say.

In his childhood he was born in Riga Latavian SSR on 6-29-1974. He has a strict military father. His mother was the one that introduced him to the theater and ballet. Started ballet when he was 10 and won the divisional prize when he was twelve. He went to 1 school, and it was the Vaganova Academy

Now we are going to talk about his personal life. He has 4 children and 2 of them are in famous movies. He lives in Riga with his wife named Lisa Rineheart. He loves the opera. He has a dog named Gigi and lady yesterday. His net worth is 45 million. His favorite dance is Don Quixote. He defected to Canada on 6-29-1974 with the Bolshi.

Now we are going to talk about Mikhail’s dancing career. After he defected, he danced with the ABT (American Ballet Theater). He learned Goerge Balanches style of movement when at (ABT). He has a vertical jump of 6 ft (insane right)! He was ridiculously small 5,5 so he was not able to tower over a ballet dancer EN point so he did not partner very much.

Now about his acting career. He made his debut on the television in 1977 starring in “The Turning Point” later that year he was the nutcracker for NYBC (Newyork Ballet Company). Then moves onto Baryshnikov on Broadway in 1980. 7 years later in 1985 he stars in “Wight Night". Then he was in the movie called “Dancers.” Then the next year in 1988 he was in “*** in the city”. Then in 2009 he was in a movie called “Place”. And finally, were done with the movies.

Now we are going to talk about some books he has made. He has made a called “Miss ‘O: my life in dance. It is about the ballet teacher for Mikhail Baryshnikov's dance teacher. Now we are going to talk about a book that I have its called “because” and am not going to talk about Because I have in the classroom, and he has more just not enough time.

I loved learning about Mikhail Baryshnikov. He is a great dancer, actor, choreographer and more. He is a superb person on and off the screen. He is someone I look up to. I really want to be like him as a ballet dancer.
