Betty White

The Amazing ♥Betty White♥ By: Katelyn L.

I’m going to be telling you about my favorite actor Betty White. Did you know Betty has a hot dog named after her? It is called “Betty White naked dog” because she never has anything on her hot dog. First, I am going to be talking about Growing up. Next, I am going to be talking about her being married. And last is going to be about her career.

Growing up where Betty was born January 7th, 1922, in Oak Park, Illinois. Her parents’ names were Horace Logan White and Tess Curtis White. Her schools were Horace Mann Elementary and Beverly Hills High School.

In 1945 Betty married a man name Dick Baker. Dick and Betty’s relationship was not that long because it ended in the same year. Betty’s second husband Lane Allen lived from 1947-1949. Her last husband's marriage was from 1961-1981, when her husband Allen Ludden passed away from stomach cancer.

Betty White was an actor in the Golden Girls, Hot in Cleveland and many other movies and TV shows. She also directed and produced her own TV show called “Life with Elizabeth.” Her other jobs included producing, starring on the radio, and as I have mentioned acting. She was also big with animal welfare. White worked with the L.A. Zoo, Morris Animal Foundation, African Wildlife. She donated over $100,000 to the zoo in 2008.

Betty also supported the LGBT rights and said “I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your own affairs and don’t worry about other people so much.” She also was opposing racial injustice like in 1954 when she was criticized by southern states for having black tap-dancer, Arthur Duncan on her show. She refused to take him off the show saying “He stays. Live with it.”

In conclusion I chose Betty White because of how she cared about others, was exceedingly kind, and was very funny!
