Hello today I am going to tell the story of Cleopatra’s ‘’dramatic’’ life. First of all, she was queen of the Nile, which is the longest river in the world and was an important river at the time.when Cleopatra ruled. Cleopatra went through three or four marriages and had four children total. She was related to one of the people she married.

Cleopatra was born around 69 B.C. and was the third of six children. Cleopatra’s father was the king of the Nile and when he died he left the throne to his eighteen year old daughter, Cleopatra, and her ten year old brother, Ptolemy XIII, who Cleopatra then married. She had no children while married to her brother. Cleopatra and her brother battled over power and Cleopatra eventually formed her own army. She joined with Roman leader, Julius Caesar, to defeat her brother.

She then married Julius Caesar. She had one son with Julius Caesar. In 44 B.C.Julius Caesar was killed. Cleopatra then married Roman leader Mark Antony. When Cleopatra was married to Mark Antony she had one girl, Cleopatra II, and two boys, Alexander and Ptolemy.

It is known that Cleopatra committed suicide and there are different paintings and sculptures of Cleopatra committing suicide. One painting is called ‘’The Death of Cleopatra’’ by Juan luna which was painted in 1881. The Cleopatra committing suicide story started as a rumor but when Mark Antony heard the story he committed suicide. When Cleopatra heard about Mark Antony committing suicide Cleopatra took a deadly desert snake called an asp and the snake bit Cleopatra.

Throughout Cleopatra’s life she spoke Greek and eight other languages. Although she had no Egyptian blood, she embraced the Egyptian culture. Cleopatra was a great ruler and was also in a panting with Julius Caesar from 1866 and it was done by Gerome. Cleopatra was and is a great ruler and it is creepy that she married one of her siblings but it was a popular custom at the time.
