Hello adults! Today you will see me as Cyndi Lauper. She was an actress, singer, and song writer. Cyndi was a girl, who in 1986, wrote her first album called “She’s So Unusual”. This album included the songs: “Time After Time”, “She Bop”, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, and “All Through the Night”. She was born in Brooklyn and is living with her husband and son in Queens, New York.
Cyndi Lauper’s full name is Cynthia Ann Stepanian Lauper. She was born to parents in a house, but it did not stay this way. When she got older, her parents divorced. Ms. Lauper continued to live with her mother, but she had a different father. Then it happened again, her mother divorced her second stepfather. Cyndi Lauper gained her new stepfather, who was abusive causing her to drop out of high school and run away from home.
In Cyndi’s early career, she wrote the album, “She’s So Unusual” which became very successful and popular among the young generation. This young rocker was in a band called Blue Angels. However, after 5 years, the band split up. This did not discourage Cyndi! She continued writing songs. After a while, she got quite famous. She also sang “We Are the World” with many other known musical artists. In her later career, Ms. Lauper started singing different versions of other people’s well-known songs.
Ms. Lauper was in married in 1991 to a man named David Thornton and together they had one child. In 2019, Cyndi Lauper released her most recent song called “Hope” and hasn’t released a song or album since.
At age 29, Cyndi Lauper started a career that would last 40+ years with many awards in-between. Despite many challenges though out her life, she still managed to get a frame in the Hall of Fame.
