Next up is some cool stuff about Mary Leakey, she was born in London, England on February 6, 1913, then later, they moved to the U.S. She became a Paleoanthropologist, later, then in December Mary Leakey passed away in her sleep at the age of 83. She also married Louis Leakey in 1936; they had two sons: Jonathan and Philip. After Louis died in 1972, she continued leading excavations Olduvai and Laetoli until 1984. She was also Elected a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1979. She was Awarded the Hubbard Medal of the National Geographic Society in 1962 (second woman to receive it).
Finally, let’s talk about the books she made! The 3 books she made are titled: Excavations at the Njoro river, Cave Olduvai Gorge: Excavations in bed, and finally Olduvai Gorge: My search for early man, Disclosing the Past [1984]
