George Harrison

By: Emory K.

George Harrison is one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, who wrote one of my favorite songs but before we jump ahead, let us go back to George Harrison's past in the winding streets of Liverpool.

George Harrison was born on February 25th, 1943, on number 12 Arnold grove, in Liverpool, England. He was born to a working-class family and was fascinated with musicians such as Little Richard, and Buddy Holly. In the mid 1950s George Harrison met Paul McCartney, who then introduced him to John Lennon, they were both in John’s band, “The Quarrymen”. George wished to join John’s band, so he played one of John’s favorite rock songs. Soon after Ringo Starr joined the band, and they changed their name to The Beatles!

The Beatles’ first album, Please Please Me, was released in which George sang background vocals for most songs including Twist and Shout. In The Beatles’ second album, With the Beatles, George wrote his first song Don't Bother Me. But soon there was a problem for the band, they usually could not hear themselves play due to all the screaming fans in the audience.

Then in 1965, George heard about Ravi Shankar, a musician who specialized in Indian music, including the Sitar, a traditional Indian instrument. This was around the time that the band had stopped touring and, in the song, Norwegian Wood, George played the Sitar with John singing. After Norwegian Wood, George made many songs with the Sitar, and others including While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Then in 1969, George quit the Beatles, and even though he rejoined later, tensions were still high with the band.

In 1970 the band disbanded, and they all set off on solo careers. Later that year, George Harrison released All Things Must Pass, including his hit song My Sweet Lord. In November 2001, George Harrison died of lung cancer. I picked George Harrison because his music is singular, and there is nothing quite like it. His last words were, simply “Love one another.”

Tim Burton

The Amazing Tim Burton

By: Noah

The Amazing Tim Burton. Tim Burton. He has been an inspiration to people all over the world if you didn’t know he’s a famous movie director. Some of his most famous movies are Th
e Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice.

Tim Burton was born on August 25, 1958, in Californian he is still alive! Tim had a sad childhood, he was never close to his family, and hated the suburbs. All the other children considered him odd. Tim always thought he was different and isolated. He always thought he didn't fit in his surroundings; You might be wondering what he did well he turned to movies, more specifically horror movies. Tim never found the monsters scary but more relatable because most monsters were misunderstood. Tim started chocolate factory, planet of the apes, bat man returns, Mars attacks, Bat Man, Edward scissor hands, Beetlejuice and the Nightmare Before Christmas. Tim started drawing wacky characters witch then led him to his first short film Vincet and the film was based on Tim’s Childhood.

Tim was never particularly good at school, but he wasn’t bad, just he would much rather make paintings and watch movies. Tim was 24 when he made his first film. All of Tim’s movies that were not rated R include Miss Peregrine’s home for peculiar children, Dumbo, Big eyes, Dark Shadows, Frankinwennie, Alice in wonder land, corpse Bride, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate factory and a lot more

In conclusion Tim burton is a Miracolas movie director and has inspired many people just like me. Without Tim Burton we would have modern movies like Bat Man I personally think Tim Burton is the best movie director in the world.

Titian

TITIAN

By Trinity

Titian was the greatest painter of the 16th century. The first to have mainly international clientele. During his long career he experimented with many different styles of painting.

Titian was Born in Pieve dleadore, a small Town at the foot of the Dolomites on the Venetian side of the alp.

Paintings Titian painted: Flora, The Three Ages of Men, Pieta, Danae. His most famous one was the Rape of Europa.

In 1511 Titian painted his celebrated frrcoes in the Seudla del Santo in Padua. His style had now reached maturity marked by fullness of forms. I thank it is cool that he made his own style of painting.

Early in 1516 Titian started his professional relationship with Alfonso I d'esta Duke of Ferrara and spent time in Alfonso Castle. In 1516 Titian began work on his first major commission for a church called Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice.

The 1520s were hugely significant for Titian. In 1525 he married Cecilia who Tragically Died in 1530.

The last Phase of Titian life coincided with a radical revision of his own style and painting technique.
