St. Patrick

The Slave Boy

By: Quinn

Have you ever heard of St. Patrick, or ever wondered why we celebrate him [St. Patrick's day]. Did you know that he's not actually not from Ireland he is from England if you have more questions read further through, most of your questions will be answered.

and it all starts with a little boy named Patrick. Now Patrick's family was religious and believed in god, but one day he was taken from his family, and captured by pirates. He got thrown on a ship, and off they went to Ireland soon he was sold into slavery separated from family he worked as a pig boy and watched over the sheep he was only feed twice a day and treated poorly. One night he had a dream of god telling him of a ship going back to the British. That morning he packed his stuff and snuck out. He traveled for quite a while, but he knew God was leading him to the right direction. Eventually he found the ship, Patrick trusted god. He talked to the owner of the ship. The owner said ''we only have a few people, so you can join us''. Off they went to England. They sailed quite a while until the captain said ''were out of food hey Patrick if you pray to that god of yours couldn't we get some food''. Patrick prayed. Suddenly they heard snorting in a barrel. They opened the barrel and there was a pig. They had a great meal that night. When they got to England Patrick reunited with his family. That night Patrick had a dream of a messenger. The messenger handed Patrick a letter Patrick opened the letter then and there he heard the voices of Ireland calling. ''help us'', ''teach us your ways", ''were desperate''. Patrick could hear all these whispers coming to him, it was like taking in a whole bunch of knowledge at one. That morning Patrick talked to his parents. He decided to return to Ireland and he built plenty of churches. Later Patrick died in 17,461 and became St. Patrick.

But that's not all St. Patrick did they say that St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the holy trinity there are a couple more legends. Like there once there was a ship a captain, and St. Patrick asked for a ride. The captain said no because St. Patrick had a big stone with the ten commandments. ''The ship would sink'' the captain said. So, St. Patrick grabbed the giant stone chucked it on the water and rode away back to Ireland... that’s it. Here's my last legend even though there are plenty more this is my last. They say there are no snakes in Ireland because St. Patrick grabbed a drum and drummed away. The snakes heard the loud sound and ran away.

Well we meet again and I'm guessing most of your questions were answered, and even if you have herd that story before I bet you learned something new. St. Patrick is important to me because he's one of the first saints that I really learned about also his story really fascinates me he did some really, generous things for example he went back to the people who kept him as a slave to teach the ways of god. I hope you learned something new.

Benjamin Franklin

Ben Franklin
By Quinn
Hello my friends welcome to my presentation on Ben franklin if your wondering why I chose ben then I have an answer I chose ben franklin me and I want to become an inventor when I grow up. I think in my personal opinion Ben Franklin is awesome so I hope you enjoy!!!
Franklin's jobs of disappointment and, extreme hardness
Franklin was born on January 17,1706 in Bostin. witch is kind of cool because January 17 is near martin Luther king day... ok back to the presentation. Ben franklin was a writer a printer a scientist and an inventor a lot of people know more about his inventor job.
He was printer and a writer near his teenage years. And he was an inventor in his old adult years he invented the kite but he didn’t do it for a kids toy. Here ill tell you the story so people thought that thunder was a sign of god being angry but Franklin knew it was electricity so he told everyone about it but no one believed him so he decided to prove it. He created the kite but, before he was done he put two little metal things on the top of the kite and the bottom of the kite the so when the thunder struck the kite it would send a wave of electricity through the kite down the string it would electrocute him witch is really smart... but not at the same time... so he did that and proved that it was just electricity. I just love that story because he almost killed himself to prove that lighting is electricity and then after almost killing himself he creates the lightning rod like in my head imlike how crazy is this guy like that is just awesomely stupid...
Well that’s all I have for today thank you for listening to my presentation.
