Michelle Obama

By Maddie
I choose Michelle because my mom has a book about her that she wrote. My mom let me listen to it and I started thinking she seems to be a great person. She did some really great things like she helped try to bring communities togetherWho knew that Michelle was going to be the first African American First Lady. She did some awesome things beginning in her childhood.
Michelle Lalavaughn Robinson Obama was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Michelle has one brother, Craig. Her and her family lived in the top story of her great aunt’s house.  She learned to play the piano; her great aunt taught her. Michelle and her aunt did not have the best relationship while Michelle was growing up.
Michelle’s dad suffered from multiple sclerosis and that effected Michelle emotionally over her whole life. An odd fact that most people don’t know, both Michelle and her brother Craig skipped second grade because they were smartMichelle was determined to be a good student and in the 6th grade she was put into a gifted class. She went to a private high school for gifted kids. After high school she went to Princeton University then to Harvard. Now to see the amazing things she did in her adulthood.
March,6, 1991 Michelle’s father died, which put a heart ache on the whole family. Michelle married Barack Obama in 1992. Then they had two daughters, Malia Ann Obama born in 1998 and Natasha Obama born in 2001. She was the first lady from 2009-2017. She campaigned for her husband when he was running for president. In her early legal career, she worked in a law firm in Chicago. Now lets see all the amazing things she has done over her whole life.
Michelle served as a role model for women and worked as an advocate for poverty awareness. She also was considered a fashion icon. She tried to help bring communities together.
I learned a lot about Michelle and now I know all the amazing things she did, and I would love to meet her some time. I would love to hear all the fun stories that she would have from the amazing things she did.
