Jim Henson

By Noah M.

Jim Henson was born on September 24 1936 and died on May 16, 1990. Mr. Henson was a puppeteer, artist and a cartoonist and he was most famous for creating the Muppets. Jim has changed the way we think of puppets today. Changing the way we think of puppets is a big establishment.

Jim grew up in a small town called Greenville near the Mississippi river which is very hard to spell by the way but back to the story. Jim went fishing every summer with his cousins and almost always caught the biggest fish. When Jim was didn't have school, he drew pitchers of monsters' funny ones with curly beaks. People asked what his inspiration was, and he always said it was his toy deer because of the way he imagined it.

When Jim was a teenager, he needed a job, but he was always turned down when he signed up for a job, until one day when he was offered a job for a tv show called Sam and friends, so Jim cut up a teal coat and boom! Kermit the frog was born Later after Sam and friends was over Jim got asked to help make puppets for a project for kids called sesame street and Bert and Ernie came to life.

At the time Jim had an idea for a show called the Muppet show ad Kermit the frog was the host, and the show was so popular that guest stars showed up. I really like it and it’s now on Disney + so you should check it out.

Saddle Jim died on May 16, 1990, and at he's funeral and big bird came and sung it’s not easy being green on of Kermit the frog’s most famous songs.

I think Jim Henson is a hero of the world of puppets because if he didn’t create the Muppets puppets would be very unpopular. The most important thing is that Jim didn’t give up, he moved forward to create a master piece, and he was a hero and an inspiration to many people including me.
